The route starts off at Albertsons on the corner of Power and Broadway in Mesa. It works it's way north to Brown and slowly climbs up to the foot of the Superstition Mountains (it doesn't look like you are climbing but your speed will show it). After turning onto the Apache trail the real climbing starts. You will get beautiful views of desert cliffs and canyons through this section as you work your way back to Canyon Lake and then over another hill to Tortilla Flat. After Tortilla Flat you will be faced with a nice 4 mile hill to climb up to the end of the pavement and then return the way you came enjoying a thrilling descent.
